Simmons I. (Pat) Patrick, Jr. is a Managing Director of WAVERLY PARTNERS, based in the firm’s Atlanta office.

Pat has successfully completed executive- and senior-level assignments for Fortune 1000, mid-sized and entrepreneurial companies across multiple industries throughout the United States.

He has worked with clients in the professional services, healthcare, financial services, insurance, manufacturing and aerospace industries. He has particular expertise in recruiting management positions for law and other professional service firms (Executive Director, CFO, CMO/CBDO, CHRO) and chief human resource (HR) officers, HR generalists and functional specialists (compensation, benefits, organizational development and talent acquisition), general counsel and chief compliance officers.

Prior to joining WAVERLY PARTNERS, Pat served as Director at another leading retained executive search firm and also has more than a decade of experience in client management and strategic advisor roles with Mercer Human Resource Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Towers Watson. He began his career as an attorney, focusing on employee compensation and benefits, with two of the nation’s top 100 law firms: Troutman Sanders in Atlanta and Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice in Raleigh.

Pat earned a Master of Law in Taxation from Emory University, a law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Carolina University. He is a member of the Atlanta Human Resource Leadership Forum, past president of the Southern Employee Benefits Conference and a former chair of the subcommittee on the Voluntary Employees' Beneficiary Association and Retiree Medical Funding of the American Bar Association Employee Benefits committee. Pat was instrumental in developing the first benefits certification curriculum for the American Compensation Association (now World-at-Work).
