Joel Epstein is Managing Director of the Toledo office and has over 25 years of executive search, entrepreneurial and financial services industries experience. His executive search practice includes clients in the industrial/consumer durables manufacturing, financial services, higher education and nonprofit industries with assignments for CEO, COO, CFO, finance, legal, human resources and development positions.

Before joining WAVERLY PARTNERS, Joel began his executive search career as Regional Vice President & Managing Director for StratfordGroup, a national retained executive search firm. Joel began his business career at Trustcorp, Inc., a regional bank holding company, where he served as Executive Vice President of the holding company and President & CEO of the multi-billion dollar lead bank. During his 20 years at Trustcorp, Joel led initiatives to form mortgage banking, equipment leasing, and de novo banking subsidiaries. Prior to entering executive search, Joel led an Angel investing group, founding and managing several entrepreneurial ventures in such diverse industries as software development and publishing, photochemical research and development, medical imaging, and medical testing.

Joel earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toledo. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees/Directors for the University of Toledo Foundation, Plastic Technologies, Inc., Spectra Group, Ltd., Robeco Clean Tech Private Equity Funds, and the Valentine Theatre Foundation as well as the Advisory Board of FirstMerit Bank NW Ohio.
