Harrison Turnbull is Managing Director and Principal in WAVERLY PARTNERS’ Charlottesville, Virginia office. With over thirty years of business, legal and executive search experience, Harrison has completed major consulting and executive search assignments for Fortune 500 and private companies in general manufacturing, financial services, industrial, energy, commercial service sectors, and professional services. He also assisted nonprofit clients (chambers of commerce, economic development, and academic institutions) recruit new senior leaders.

His search projects have included positions at the Corporate Independent Director and C-Level, senior general management (CEO, COO, CFO, CIO, GC, GM), finance and accounting (CFO, Treasurer, Controller, tax, internal audit), corporate finance and capital markets, sales & marketing, legal, human resources, strategic planning, and supply chain. He has recruited a number of Independent Directors for the Board of Directors of publicly held clients.

Prior to joining WAVERLY PARTNERS in 2002, Harrison held a number of senior management positions including Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and Director of AMVEST Corporation (a private, energy-focused, natural resources company), Principal with Norelli & Company, and Commercial Loan Officer with NationsBank (now Bank of America). Harrison also practiced corporate and securities law with McGuireWoods, a multinational law firm headquartered in Richmond, VA.

Harrison obtained his BS degree in Business Administration from Washington & Lee University, earned his M.B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Virginia. He also successfully completed the Series 7 Registered Representative, Series 24 General Securities Principal, and Series 63 examinations. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, and American Bar Association. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Virginia’s Health Services Foundation (now UVA Physicians Group), which serves more than 1,200 physicians and allied health professionals in the University of Virginia’s Health System. He also served as Chairman of the Board of the University of Virginia Outpatient Surgery Center.
